DO NOT touch your tattoo unless you are cleansing. (A tattoo is considered a wound and infections are possible.)
DO NOT consume caffiene or alcohol the day of your appointment. ( before or after)
DO NOT peel or pick at any flaking/scabs during the healing process
DO NOT use any makeup, creams, SPF, or exfoliants for at least 7 days.
DO NOT sweat excessively for 7 days.
DO NOT expose your tattoo to the sun or UV Rays during the healing process.*(Wear a hat if needed.)
DO NOT run direct water or submerge your tattoo, only while cleansing.
DO NOT use any petroleum based products on your tattoo. Only the instructed aftercare product.
DO NOT get massages or facials or skin treatments during the healing process.
DO NOT use exfoliants, retinols, or acids/AHA’s until after the full 14 days.
Follow all aftercare instructions as directed, however your skin type and what you expose your skin to may have an effect on your healed results that is out of our control. Healed results are not guaranteed.
Tips for long-term tattoo care
After getting a tattoo, the outer layer of skin (the part you can see) will typically heal within 2 to 4 weeks. While it may look and feel healed, and you may be tempted to slow down on the aftercare, it can take as long as 6 months for the skin below a tattoo to truly heal. Once your tattoo has healed, you move into maintenance mode. Although you don’t have to worry about infection after the first few weeks, there are things you can do to prevent ink from degrading.
• Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water to support your overall health and improve skin elasticity.
• Prevent sun damage: Wear sun-protective clothing and apply sunscreen to protect your tattoo and keep your ink vibrant.
• Keep your tattoo moisturized!
• Avoid rapid weight change: Rapid fluctuation in weight size could stretch out or distort the tattoo.
